Manchester United slumped to their second Premier League defeat of the season away at Leicester on Saturday, which has reportedly raised concerns in the Old Trafford dressing room

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces a battle to lift the spirits of his Manchester United squad following their 'concerning' defeat against Leicester on Saturday, according to reports.

United were beaten for the fourth time this season at the King Power, despite initially taking the lead through Mason Greenwood in the 19th minute.

Goals from Youri Tielemans and Caglar Soyuncu swung the game in Leicester's favour, but Marcus Rashford looked to have secured a point for the visitors when he equalised with eight minutes to go.

That was before Brendan Rodgers' side knocked them out cold with two late goals; first restoring their lead through Jamie Vardy straight from the kick-off and then putting the icing on the cake when Patson Daka tapped home in stoppage time.

It was an alarming capitulation from United after levelling proceedings late on in the match, and ESPN describe the mood in the dressing room as being 'flat'.

Red Devils stars are reportedly concerned at the manner of their latest defeat, with Solskjaer's admission that David de Gea being their best player on the day despite conceding four goals speaking volumes.

However, Old Trafford chiefs are adamant that his position is not under threat and he maintains their full support ahead of a crunch Champions League clash with Atalanta on Wednesday.

Solskjaer has a nightmare run of fixtures on the horizon which includes meetings with Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City in their next three games. After the defeat at Leicester, the under-fire United boss said: “The goals we conceded were disappointing. The timing of them and the way they were conceded.

“We weren’t good enough with second balls and 50-50s – the things that give you the right to win a game of football. We couldn’t get them 50-50s turning our way.

"It says everything when your best player is the goalie, David de Gea, and still we conceded four goals.”
