Roy Keane's most brutal takes after comparing Erling Haaland to League Two player
Roy Keane is not one to pull punches with his brutal honesty usually going down a treat with Sky Sports viewers - and perhaps not so much with the footballers he's having a go at
Roy Keane has long been box office TV.
The Manchester United legend secured his footballing legacy in a trophy-laden career which ended with him becoming the joint-most successful Irish footballer of all time - alongside ex-United team-mate Denis Irwin - having won 19 major trophies in their club careers.
While he enjoyed managerial stints at Sunderland and Ipswich, the Irishman sought a new lease of life in punditry and has become perhaps the most entertaining man in football thanks to blunt and savage takes.
The stoic nature of the 52-year-old when delivering his brutally honest opinions about a particular player or team makes it all the more enjoyable for football fans around the globe.
No individual or institution is safe from the wrath of Roy Keane as Daily Star Sport takes a look at the best of his brutal jabs.
Taking no prisoner with Erling Haaland
Keane was particularly scathing of Erling Haaland after a dismal performance in Manchester City's 0-0 draw with Arsenal.
The Irishman said the striker's "general play is so poor" before harshly saying: "He's almost like a League Two player, that’s how I look at him".
Playing down Micah Richards' lofty claim
The Irishman was an immediate sceptic when Micah Richards claimed he 'burst onto the scene' when he became the youngest defender to play for England at 18 years of age.
Keane, who enjoys a playful relationship with his fellow pundit, poured cold water on the lofty claim as he questioned the ex-Man City star by saying: "Did you burst onto the scene? Very few defenders burst onto the scene."
Branding Pogba as a 'big problem'
Paul Pogba's second stint at Manchester United certainly had more down's than up's as he found himself facing the ire of Keane after calling his side's performance in a 4-0 defeat to Everton "disgraceful".
The former United captain claimed that there was "no meaning" behind the Frenchman's words before adding: "He's talking about body language - he was throwing his arms up in the air. He's a big problem."
Dashing out nicknames to Spurs' stars
Following Liverpool's 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in 2019, Keane took aim at Serge Aurier and Danny Rose and handed them nicknames, arguing that they couldn't hold a candle to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.
He called them "Dumb and Dumber," before adding: "I thought they were really poor, you cannot compare them to the two Liverpool lads who were absolutely fantastic."
