Inside Russia's Black Dolphin prison where electrocuted inmates hold horror 'yoga' pose

Russia's Black Dolphin prison may be the worst of the lot as lags have their testicles electrocuted and are forced into a horror 'yoga' position for hours on end

Lags inside one of Russia's toughest prisons have their testicles electrocuted and are forced to perform a horror "yoga" pose.

Prisoners of the Black Dolphin prison are left locked up on their "eternal" sentences and endure grisly torture which leaves their veins bursting and their legs beaten by vicious guards.

When not being beaten or electrocuted the serial killers and maniacs locked up in the prison are forced to hold the "swallow" yoga position for hours – a move where prisoners lay on their bellies and lift their arms behind their back and raise their legs.

Russian prisons do not have the best track record when it comes to comforting the incarcerated and for those in the Black Dolphin lockup there is an intense and strict series of rules.

Breaching those rules leads to the electrocuted gonads, vicious yoga poses and beaten legs previously mentioned though an impending investigation – blocked by strong opposition – is voicing serious concerns about the prison's safety, MK reported.

An unnamed convict who found themselves in the prison temporarily said: "The worst thing is for those who are just arriving. They immediately let them know what the rules are here."

When prisoners are placed in the swallow position, a form of torture which can last the full day and see lags beaten if their legs are not spread wide enough, cameras inside the cells are switched off.

"Those who return to Dolphin from the stages or from investigative actions do not eat beforehand," says one former prison worker. The lags are seemingly wise to practices in the prison and now prevent themselves from getting too full in case of a beating.

The ex-guard, now a lawyer, said: "According to the convicts, any smallest everyday statement was considered an encroachment on the regime." Those inside the prison tend to be the most vicious crop of prisoners in Russia.

Murderers and terrorists are in among the crime gangs of the 1980s and 1990s who see themselves as victims of judicial errors. They are behind bars with maniacs and paedophiles all the same.

Russia's prisons are uniquely horrifying, as the Daily Star has previously reported. One lockup, the Lefortovo prison in Moscow, has a brutal history stretching back to the days of Joseph Stalin.

The ex-Soviet leader would use the place to torture his enemies and the grim practices appear to have continued on into the 21st century as inmates are worn down psychologically as well as physically.

The Arctic Wolf Prison where Alexei Navalny died earlier this year is also a chilling prison now infamous for its grim conditions. An ex-inmate of the Arctic Wolf Prison said: "There were cases where a person went to the med unit and said, 'I feel pressure and my heart hurts,'

"They'd give him an analgin pill and one day of bed rest. And in the morning the person wouldn’t wake up because he’d thrown a blood clot."

Another inmate claimed: "You can rape, kill, or do anything you want to a person there."
