The La Liga side have reportedly suspended one of their players amid rumours he's dating the teenage daughter of one of the club's most adored legends

La Liga side Real Betis have reportedly suspended one of their players amid claims he's dating the daughter of a club legend and current member of the board.

Nelson Deossa, 26, hasn't featured in any of Betis' last four games - and one report has now alleged his absence has “fuelled rumours of a possible romance” with stunning brunette Daniela Sanchez.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, 19-year-old Daniela, who is one of Betis and Spain icon Joaquin's two daughters with his wife Susana Saborido, has been getting cosy with the current star. It adds there is a “notion” he has been excluded “for reasons outside of sports”.

Deossa has seemingly addressed the rumours by posting a cryptic message on social media. He shared a quote, that read: “Whether they speak well or ill, let them speak of us. That’s good reputation. They’re already talking about anything.”

Daniela seems to have also broken her silence by sharing a snap from the beach: "People don’t know what to do with their lives, but with yours they have everything very clear," adding a yawning emoji.

The Colombian, who signed for Betis in the summer after signing from Mexican side Monterrey for around £11million, last made an appearance against Panathinaikos on March 12.

Deossa had impressed with Monterrey during the inaugural Club World Cup, playing in all four of their games and playing a role in their famous win over Borussia Dortmund.

He made the move to Europe after the tournament - but has failed to make a splash during his time in Spain.

Joaquin, meanwhile, never struggled to find the net for Betis - he played 528 times for the team and won two Copa Del Rey trophies.

The winger retired in 2023, aged 41, before moving into the boardroom.
