Plants and flowers could be seen knocked off shelving onto the ground outside the entrance to the store after the violent incident in front of a popular Lidl store

A violent fight outside a Lidl supermarket has resulted in the death of a woman, with four elderly individuals involved in the incident.

The aftermath saw plants and flowers strewn across the pavement outside the store's entrance in Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire, following the disturbance on Wednesday evening (May 28). The police are calling for witnesses after a 65-year-old bloke and a 71-year-old lady were reportedly attacked. The woman passed away on Thursday night.

The clash took place at the Lidl on Vale Road sometime between 4pm and 8pm. A 62-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man, initially nicked on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, have now also been arrested for suspected involuntary manslaughter.

On Thursday morning, a police forensics worker was spotted taking photos of the scene and using a UV torch to spot any signs of blood splatter. The officers had a tough time trying to locate external CCTV that captured the incident, as there was nothing available outside the shop.

The boss of the Lidl branch took to Facebook on Thursday morning to say: "I'm the store manager of Lidl, I want to reassure you all staff are safe, an incident has taken place in the car park.", reports the Mirror.

"Enquiries remain on-going surrounding the circumstances of the incident.

"We would ask the public to refrain from speculating online and respect her family's privacy at this difficult time."

Earlier, the force had appealed for witnesses, stating: "Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault outside of the Lidl in Stourport on Vale Road between 4pm and 8pm yesterday (Wednesday 28 May).

"Four people were reportedly involved in the altercation, and a 65-year-old man and 71-year-old woman were allegedly assaulted. They all then left the area.

"A 62-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody.

"Officers are now appealing to the public for information."
