Arsenal player ratings as three 5/10s sums up loss to Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have been beaten in the Far East by Tottenham and an embarrassing goal from Pape Matar Sarr who scored from the halfway line - here Daily Star Sport has a look at the player ratings
Arsenal and Tottenham's bitter rivalry's latest chapter will be defined by a moment of magic.
The two North London-based sides showed signs of still being half on the beach as they clashed in the humid heat of Hong Kong on Thursday afternoon. Pape Matar Sarr's halfway line strike will be shared for years to come in a clash where the result didn't ultimately matter.
It was more about the style of play and how the new players looked for Mikel Arteta, who looked to be going more direct. There was a debut for Viktor Gyokeres and more time for young sensation Max Dowman.
And despite the 1-0 defeat, Daily Star Sport has a look at the players ratings for Arsenal.
David Raya - Questions remain over Arsenal's shot-stopper, and he did little to settle them against Spurs as he was caught in no man's land for the opener. 5.
Ben White - Did little of note, was sold when called upon but was quiet throughout the match. 6.
William Saliba - Stepped up when needed as the senior player in the backline. Helped organise it, especially when Cristhian Mosquera came on during the second-half. 7.
Jakob Kiwior - It hasn't been the easiest of times recently for Kiwior but he again looked the weak link. 6.
Myles Lewis-Skelly - Was at fault for Sarr's goal when he was tackled in the centre of the pitch and struggled to really get into the game. 5.
Martin Odegaard - Odegaard looks to have somewhat transformed his frustrations from last season and looked lively heading forward. 6.
Chrsitian Norgaard - A good signing from Arteta who has seamlessly slipped into the first team without standing out in anyway. 6.
Declan Rice - Looked lively heading forward and put in a good defensive shift, all around decent performance. 6.
Bukayo Saka - Struggled in the first half, but started to carve out some chances in the second before he was hooked. 6.
Kai Havertz - Had a couple of decent chances, but failed to find the net. Linked up play well and showed some good signs. 7.
Gabriel Martinelli - Largely anonymous throughout the game before he was hooked on the hour mark. 5.
Martin Zubimendi (Norgaard, 60) - Linked up play nicely as Arsenal started to gain a foothold. 7.
Leandro Trossard (Martinelli, 60) - Didn't do a lot once off the bench. 6.
Viktor Gyokeres (Havertz, 77) - The man everyone wanted to see was limited by a resolute Spurs defence. 6.
Cristhian Mosquera (Kiwior, 77) - Looked good without coming under any real pressure from the Spurs forwards. 6.
Max Dowman (Saka, 77) - Continued to look good - the 15-year-old had a couple of decent carries to drive his team forward. 7.
Oleksandr Zinchenko (Lewis-Skelly, 77) - Provided fresh legs when they were needed, looked solid. 6.
Mikel Merino (Rice, 77) - Had a decent chance when the ball fell to him on the edge of the area. 6.
