Arsenal have dropped more points in the Premier League as Brentford were the latest team to get a result at the Emirates Stadium

It would have taken a miracle to catch Liverpool - but even the most optimistic of Arsenal fans have now admitted it might be over for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta's side dropped more points on Saturday evening as they welcomed Brentford to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners had looked in cruise control when they thought they had taken the lead.

However, the Premier League's new semi-automatic VAR system saved Brentford. Declan Rice continued his great week in the second half, dancing up the pitch before playing the ball into the path of Thomas Partey.

But the Gunners would drop more points after Yoane Wissa hit back in the 74th minute.

"Dropped 11 points in the last 7 games. We don't deserve to win this title," one fan sighed. While a second said: "The draws have really killed Arsenal’s title challenge..."

"Prepare to offer a guard of honour for Liverpool since Arteta has given up on the title race," a third posted. While a fourth fumed: "No way!!! Arsenal are giving away this title to Liverpool!"

And another added: "How lucky you must be to have Arsenal in second place when you’re charging for the title. Absolutely zero pressure!"

Liverpool are now just three games away from glory - and their first Premier League title under new boss Arne Slot, who took the reigns from Jurgen Klopp last summer.

It's all about Europe now for Arsenal, who stunned the continent with 3-0 win against Real Madrid.

"When you've not played against this team for 20 years, you've not had a proper run in this competition, you have to be prepared to write your own history," Arteta said.

"It's on nights like this, that you can write your own history. It came from the collective and individual quality of our players. And now we have a lot more to give."
